Cardiosport Autozone Instructions Positioning the transmitter
Position on the chest and attach the other end. Adjust the strap length to give a snug comfortable fit around your chest. Transmitter battery type CR2032
The AutoZone heart rate monitor continuously measures heart rate with ECG accuracy and displays this on the heart rate receiver as beats per minute, along with the percentage of maximum heart rate, making the AUTOZONE very easy to use. All you have to do is enter either your age or maximum heart rate, and AUTOZONE does the rest for you, programming all the Heart rate target zones and calculating the percentage of maximum heart rate. BEFORE YOU START AN EXERCISE PROGRAM, YOU ARE ADVISED TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. AUTOZONE functions ♥- True Heart Rate (by timing R-wave to R-wave intervals) ♥- Five Heart Rate zones for specific fitness aims, set automatically from age or maximum heart rate ♥- A single manual heart rate zone ♥- Heart Rate high limit alarm (Audible and visible) ♥- Heart Rate low limit alarm (audible and visible) ♥- Displays heart rate as a percentage (%) of maximum heart rate ♥- Electro luminescent LCD light Quick Start Instructions-Watch Receiver Keys Select (top left corner button) Light (middle button) Adjust (top right corner button) Select-This key moves you between the five screens:
♥-
A long press of the SELECT key will switch the heart rate
receiver ON ♥-
A further long press of the SELECT key switches the
heart rate receiver OFF ♥- After a period (more then 2 minutes) of inactivity (no regular signal and no key presses) the receiver will switch OFF automatically. ADJUST This key is used to change or adjust the settings LIGHTIn Screen 1, a press of the LIGHT key brings
on the LCD light for 4 seconds. During
these 4 seconds, heart rate monitoring will be suspended and the heart
rate display freezes. For Screens 2 through 5, a short press of the LIGHT key will return you to the previous screen and a long press of the LIGHT key will return you to Screen 1. To get started straight away, simply position the chest transmitter then make a long press of the SELECT key until the heart symbol appears. POSITIONING THE CHEST TRANSMITTER 1) Attach the adjustable elastic strap to the transmitter. 2) Moisten the rubber electrodes on the underside of the belt. Water or saliva can be used. 3) The transmitter should be positioned next to your skin with the Cardiosport logo facing forwards in the middle of the chest, just below the breast 4) Adjust the strap length to ensure a secure but comfortable fit. The transmitter is activated automatically when on the body and is deactivated automatically when removed. GETTING STARTED ♥-When it is not in use, the AUTOZONE LCD will display OFF ♥- A long press (greater then 2 seconds) of the SELECT key will switch the watch receiver ON. The display will now show a heart symbol and a 0 (zero) on the heart rate digits. ♥- When a signal is received from the chest transmitter, the heart symbol will start to flash in time with the heart rate. After a few beats, the calculated heart rate will appear. ♥- If the heart rate is below the Lo (low) limit of the currently selected heart rate zone, the down arrow will be flashing and, if the audio is enabled, a deep will sound at each heart rate. ♥- Similarly if the heart rate is above the Hi (high) limit, the up arrow will flash and, if the audio is enabled, a beep will sound at each heart rate. ♥- If the heart rate is between the Lo (low) and Hi (high) limits, i.e. within the selected heart rate zone, both arrows will appear but no beeps will be emitted. Only after an age or maximum heart rate has been entered will the AutoZone’s be available. The percentage display will also remain blank until an age or maximum heart rate has been entered. SETTING THE PERSONAL PARAMETERSThe personal parameters, which can be set, are: ♥- User’s age or maximum heart rate ♥- Active heart rate zone selection ♥- Upper and lower limits of the manual heart rate zone SETTING AGE OR MAXIMUM HEART RATE Enter your age or maximum heart rate if this is known. ♥- AGE: If age is entered the maximum heart rate is calculated from: 220- age = Maximum heart rate in beats per minute ♥- MAXIMUM HEART RATE: enter this if it has been established through a recent fitness assessment, or given to you on medical recommendation. This value is then used for the automatic setting of the boundaries of five heart rate zones. ♥-When in the heart rate monitoring screen, pressing the SELECT key enters the Active Heart Rate Zone Selection Screen. ♥- A further press of the SELECT key enters the age/maximum heart rate entry screen. ♥- Pressing the ADJUST key changes the number displayed. If the number is 99 or less AUTOZONE interprets this as the user’s maximum heart rate. ♥- When increasing the age by pressing the ADJUST key, advancing beyond the end of the age range at 99 causes the display to advance to the bottom of the maximum heart rate range at 121. AUTOMATIC ZONE SETTING
♥- Thoroughly wipe your AUTOZONE heart rate receiver and transmitter, and allow the elastic strap to dry after each use. Sore your HRM in a cool dry place ♥- Do not expose your HRM to direct sunlight for extended periods such as leaving it in a car. ♥- Do not expose your HRM to extremes of temperature above 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) or below 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius). REPLACING THE TRANSMITTER BATTERY Undo the battery hatch with a suitable coin and remove the old battery. Ensure that the new battery is inserted into the hatch correctly with the plus sign facing the battery hatch. Check the rubber gasket is clean, correctly fitted and not damaged, then close the hatch securely. TROUBLESHOOTINGWhat if the heart rate reading is erratic or totally absent? Repeat the electrode moistening procedure. The electrodes must be moist to pick up accurate heart rate readings. What if the heart rate reading becomes erratic or
becomes extremely high (above 200)? When exercising with your AUTOZONE you may come within range of other electromagnetic signals, causing the heart rate reading to elevate to abnormal levels. Common sources of electromagnetic signals are high voltage power lines and motor driven equipment. Signals from other people wearing transmitter belts (within 80cm) can also cause incorrect readings. Check your surroundings and move away from the source.
