Press the select button until the heart rate / time of day screen is

low alarms. Press the adjust to the desired limits. ( I set
mine from 123 to 153 for running) Holding the
adjust button makes the digits change quickly. The high limit
can be increased to a maximum of 240 bpm then it returns to 80 bpm, the
low limit can be decreased to 30bpm and then it will return to the high
limit value minus 5 bpm. (Zone
Calculator) To turn the heart rate alarm on/off press and
hold the adjust button when the limit classic is in the heart rate
mode. The alarm is visibly displayed with a symbol above
the heart letting you know if the alarm is on or off. The alarm will
sound only if you are above or below the heart zone that you previously
set.
Do not be obsessed with finding your exact target zone. Even though
the zones can vary from person to person, you should initially be
concerned about exercising not too hard or not too easy. Later on
you can find your approximate maximum
heart rate for the sport you are training in and then set your zones
according to your goals. In general running, cross country skiing
will produce higher heart rates, while swimming, aerobics and walking will
have lower zones. Cycling, In-Line Skating and Rowing will be
somewhere in the middle.
