Button Description
- Mode Button - moves you between the four main screens
- Set Button - advances you through all setting screens
- Adjust Button - used to change a value in the setting screens.
- Light Button - turns on the monitor light and is also the key used
to return you to the previous setting screen.
Watch battery type CR2025
Positioning the transmitter
Attach the adjustable elastic strap to one end of the
transmitter. Moisten the electrodes with saliva or water. The
electrodes are the part with groves on them. You can use Buh
Bump lotion for better transmission.

Position on the chest and attach the other end. Adjust the strap
length to give a snug comfortable fit around your chest. Transmitter
battery type CR2032

Switching the heart monitor on and off:
Position the chest strap and then press and hold the MODE
key in any screen except the alarm (until the heart symbol appears.
To turn the monitor off, hold down the mode button, the monitor will turn off
automatically after a few minutes if no heart rate signal is picked up,
this
saves the battery.
Setting the time
Press the mode button until the time of day and date are
displayed. Give a short press of the set button to start changes.
Press the adjust button to reset the seconds to zero. Then press the
set button to move to hours. Repeat for minutes, month and
day. Setting note: A short press of the
light brings you to the previous setting and a long press of the light
returns you to the main menu. Holding
the adjust button makes the digits change quickly.
Setting the daily Alarm
Press the mode button until the daily alarm screen is displayed (AL). Give a short press of the set button to enter the the
alarm setting. Press the adjust button to change the alarm
setting. Holding the adjust button makes the
digits change quickly. After the alarm time is set, holding
the adjust button toggles the daily alarm on and off. This can not
be done while you are changing the daily alarm time.
Setting target zones

Press the mode button until the stop watch screen is
displayed. Press the set key to enter the settings for the high and
low alarms. Press the adjust to the desired limits. ( I set
mine from 123 to 153 for running) Holding the
adjust button makes the digits change quickly. The high limit
can be increased to a maximum of 240 bpm then it returns to 80 bpm, the
low limit can be decreased to 30bpm and then it will return to the high
limit value minus 5 bpm.
Using the stopwatch
Press the mode button until the stopwatch screen is displayed (STW). Press the adjust key to start and stop the stop
watch. Once the stopwatch has been stopped, a long press of
the adjust key resets the stopwatch to zero. |

Time in zone
Press the mode button until the time in zone screen is
displayed (TIZ). Note accumulated time in the target zone will only occur when
the stopwatch is activated and you are exercising in the chosen target
zone. To view the accumulated time in zone press the mode button until you
are in the time in zone screen. To reset the accumulated time in
zone, press and hold the adjust button in the time in zone screen.
Note the stopwatch must be stopped. |

Target zone alarm (turning on and off)
Press and hold the set button to toggle the time in
zone alarm. This will work only when the heart rate is turned on
(pressing the mode button) and the Premier is in time of day, stopwatch,
or time in zone mode. Features
and instructions unique to the Cardiosport Advanced Countdown
timer
Press the mode button until the Countdown timer screen (TMR) is
displayed. Give a short press of the set button to enter the countdown
setting. Press the adjust button to change the setting for hours, minutes
and seconds. Use the set key to move from hours, minutes
and seconds. A short press of the
light brings you to the previous setting and a long press of the light
returns you to the main menu. Set timer to auto and the
advanced will continually beep 10 times until you hold the adjust to
reset. The countdown value is then reset to zero. Don't use
the auto, and the countdown is performed once and reset to the value you
assigned.
Setting Your Maximum
Heart Rate. (Click
more info on finding your maximum)
A maximum heart rate (MHR) is required to accurately calculate
and display the current heart rate as a percentage of (MHR). From
the stopwatch screen press the set button until either age or MHR is
displayed. Use the adjust key to change age between (10-99) and MHR
(121-240). If you use age MHR is calculated as 220-age. Note
as you hold down the adjust button the advanced will scroll quickly thru
age and then Max heart rate. You get to take your pick. Better yet

Recalling workout data
Press the mode button until the time in zone screen is
displayed. Press the set key to display the time above target zone
and average heart rate. Press the set again and you can view time in
zone and time below zone with average in each. You can view this
info during your workout. Press and hold the adjust button to clear
the workout once the stopwatch has been stopped.
